"Girls Gone Wild"--Who really profits from this?
71It's an interesting world we live in.
Women have such an infinite range of choices today. We can become CEO's, work in Congress, drive trucks...or we can strip off our clothes for "Girls Gone Wild."
We have come a long way...or have we?
This isn't so much about the morals (or lack thereof) of this enterprise. The First Amendment will always hold in this category. While I don't agree with the premise of this idea (getting very young girls of a questionable age to get naked and do very sexual things on camera), I also am wondering about the monetary end of this. Think about it. Pretty young girls are approached by reporters who encourage them to disrobe, flash their breasts, or other activities of a sexual nature. The release is signed, the girls go on their way, and the videos are put together and sold on DVD for millions of dollars.
That's right, millions.
So while the creator of this business is kicking back and enjoying the profits, how much money are these girls really making? My guess is, nada. Not one thin dime. I'm sure they believe that the exposure (no pun intended) will lead to bigger and better things, but does it? Let's be realistic. How many girls on those videos ever went on to become the next big box office draw? And why is it so important to them to do this? Is it worth it? There is no control by these girls over any profit that is made off of their faces and other various body parts they eagerly show to the camera. Many people dismiss this as cheap pornography, but I disagree with that word being used in this case. In pornography, it's the women who call the shots. Jenna Jameson runs her own empire now after many successful years as a porn star. Women in that industry make a great deal more than the girls who eagerly take off their clothes in the "Girls Gone Wild" DVD's. I have seen a "Girls Gone Wild" magazine, but again...how much money do these girls make in the magazine issues? Is it anywhere near what porn stars take in? I doubt it, but perhaps someone can speak up and prove me wrong. My only concern is this...if a girl wants to disrobe for a camera, fine, she can do that. This is the 21st century, and women have control over their bodies. They also have control over who pays them to do this. To simply take off ones clothes for the camera in hopes that it might lead to bigger and better things is ludicrous. I say, don't sign anything unless someone pays you good money and you get profits from sales of the DVD. It's only fair.
Seriously, girls, next time some guy with the "Girls Gone Wild" camera comes up to you and suggests you take off your clothes and get wild, I have one or two suggestions. Either give him a dirty look and say "You first" and move on, or simply advise him you'll do it for a certain percentage of the profits.
Bet you Jenna Jameson would say the same...

Most sane advise to eager excited gurls who will do any and everything(including go wild)hoping for instant fame...A myth thas has led to the mushrooming of the casting couch.
The sooner that these dumb babes realise that there is no such thing as a free lunch and if they still want to serve free lunches for nothing or mere tips..then they shud not weep when the time comes to clean the dishes n mop the floor after the party is over!!!
So unless ur doing it for cheap thrills do anything you want for fame but only sign on the dotted line when you know what's in it for you not one time but in the long run..else be prepared to have even ur grand children see you doing it on camera one day in the future...coz these things will haunt you to ur grave and maybe beyond!!!
Soo kiddos wake up and smell the coffee dropping ur clothes and doing it on camera is no guarantee you will be "Breaking News" material!!!!
